    The Hemp food industry has been working towards allowing low THC hemp to be recognised legitimately as a food by an application to the Food Standards Australia New Zealand (A1039). The application aims to meet global standards in Europe and North America that already have thriving industrial hemp businesses.

    The Complementary Healthcare Council of Australia (CHC) congratulates well-known industry player, Swisse, for supporting independent complementary medicine research through the provision of $15 million over six years to the new Complementary Medicines Evidence Centre (CMEC) at La Trobe University.

    In response to proposed regulatory reforms that impact the ability of un-registered health professionals such as naturopaths, western herbalists and nutritionists to receive comprehensive information about the substances they prescribe for their patients, the Complementary Healthcare Council of Australia (CHC) has recommended the Department of Health supports the independent registration system, the Australian Register of Naturopaths and Herbalists (ARONAH).
