    The TGA is currently progressing through a phased consultation process for the revised Australian Regulatory Guidelines for Complementary Medicines (ARGCM).

    Members are encouraged to review the consultation document and send comments and proposed changes to Emma Burchell at:  submissions@chc.org.au  by COB, Monday 11 February 2013 for submitting to the TGA by 18 February 2013.

    Australian governments have decided to pursue a voluntary code of practice for businesses that manage, handle or use products containing 11 chemicals identified as having the potential to be used to make homemade explosives.

    The Therapeutic Goods Administration has made additions to the List of Australian Approved Names for Metal Amino Acid Chelates included in the Electronic Listing Facility (ELF). This now makes 19 new specific names for metal amino acids chelates available for use.

    Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) has today published a review of its decision to approve a
    variation arising from the Proposal P293 - Nutrition, Health & Related Claims. FSANZ has re-affirmed its
    approval, which is subject to amendment and to written confirmation of the decision by the COAG
    Legislative and Governance Forum on Food Regulation (the Forum).

    FSANZ  are calling for comment on Cost Recovery Arrangements for High Level Health Claims

    Guidelines for Complementary Medicines (ARGCM), commencing with Part A: General Guidance.

    It is imperative that all Members review the consultation document and make proposed changes within the document to be returned to Emma Burchell at submissions@chc.org.au by COB, Thursday 1 of November.
