ESCOP Presentation: Regulatory framework for herbal medicinal products in Europe including their quality assurance – an update ESCOP has published presentation slides from Dr. Barbara Steinhoff’s 7 February webinar, which provides an update on the European regulatory framework for herbal medicinal products, including their quality assurance. The presentation covers information on: General preconditions for placing herbal medicinal products on the market; Special features of production; Requirements of the Pharmacopoeia and quality control, including testing for impurities; Requirements of proof of efficacy and safety; and Issues of demarcation.  Available online Free

Conférence Francophone sur les Ingrédients Botaniques (CFIB) Modelled after the International Conference on the Science of Botanicals (ICSB), the two-day conference brings together representatives of industry, government, and academia to discuss the use of botanical ingredients across a wide array of categories such as health and wellness, cosmetics and toiletries, nutraceutical and food supplements, nutrition, and pest control. The program also includes presentations about technological advancements and innovations in the fields of quality control, formulation, safety, and efficacy of botanical ingredients. HPTLC Self-Education Dashboard The International Association for the Advancement of High Performance Thin Layer Chromatography (HPTLC Association) promotes the use of HPTLC in plant analysis and other analytical fields.
